The Future of Families

The North Douglas School District presents a free 15 week family education series focusing on nurturing and effective family strategies. This course is designed for parents and their children ages 5 to 11 years. Parents and children will learn to develop family rules, communicate their feelings honestly, express anger without violence, develop quality "time-in", give and receive positive recognition, practice nurturing routines, use their personal power in positive ways, discipline with positive results, and play and have fun as a family! Discussions will also include appropriate expectations of children, helping children manage their feelings and behaviors, avoiding power struggles, positive discipline methods, understanding and managing stress, and keeping children safe. This course utilizes the evidence based and highly effective Nurturing Parenting curriculum.  Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the 15 week program.

Dinner will be served each evening.
